Saint Nektarios of Aegina (Agios Nektarios) is among the most venerated saints of the modern Orthodox Church. As a metropolitan, theologian, poet, and miracle-worker, he lived a life of deep humility and unwavering faith – despite slander, exile, and poverty. He is particularly renowned as an intercessor for the sick and as a wonderworker whose intercession continues to be sought by believers from all over the world today. This depiction shows him in episcopal vestments holding a Gospel book against a warm gold background – a saint whose kindness and holiness shine through every feature of his face.

The icon is crafted on solid pine wood, stained dark, and features a characteristic scalloped edge as well as decorative brass nails at the corners – unmistakable hallmarks of a small Greek family workshop that follows the Byzantine tradition and has developed its own unique artisanal style with a love for detail.

Whether for your own prayer corner, as a gift for a baptism, wedding, or name day, or for a home altar – this icon is an expression of lived Orthodox tradition.
