Orthodox Icon Saint Luke of Crimea (Agios Loukas o Iatros) | 20 × 14 × 2 cm
Saint Luke of Crimea (Agios Loukas o Iatros), also known as Saint Luke the Physician of Simferopol, is one of the most venerated saints in modern Orthodox church history. As an archbishop, surgeon, and confessor, he impressively combined medical service with spiritual life. Despite persecution and exile during the Soviet era, he remained true to his faith and worked as both a physician and a pastor. The depiction shows him in episcopal vestments with a crozier and a gesture of blessing against a deep blue background—a saint who is especially invoked by the sick, doctors, and all who seek healing and intercession.
The icon is crafted on solid pine wood, stained dark, and features a characteristic scalloped edge as well as decorative brass nails at the corners—distinctive hallmarks of a small Greek family workshop that follows the Byzantine tradition and has developed its own unique craftsmanship with a love for detail.
Whether for your own prayer corner, as a gift for recovery, baptism, or a name day, or for a home altar—this icon is an expression of lived Orthodox tradition.
