Orthodox Icon Saint Demetrius (Agios Dimitrios) | 20 × 14 x 2 cm

Saint Demetrios (Agios Dimitrios) is one of the most significant martyr saints of the Orthodox Church: As the patron saint of Thessaloniki and patron of soldiers, he represents courage in faith, steadfastness, and loyalty to Christ even in times of persecution. The depiction shows the saint in his classic Byzantine iconography as a warrior and martyr in military attire.

The icon is crafted on solid pine wood, stained dark, and features a characteristic wavy edge as well as decorative brass nails at the corners – unmistakable hallmarks of a small Greek family workshop that follows the Byzantine tradition and has developed its own distinct artisanal signature with a love for detail.

Whether for your own prayer corner, as a gift for a baptism, wedding, or name day, or for a home altar – this icon is an expression of lived Orthodox tradition.
