Orthodox Icon Annunciation to the Theotokos (Evangelismos) – Byzantine Icon | 20 × 14 cm

The Annunciation (Evangelismos) is one of the twelve great feasts of the Orthodox Church: The icon depicts the Archangel Gabriel bringing the glad tidings to the Mother of God, Mary – the beginning of the salvation of humanity. Mary, lost in deep prayer, receives the divine message in humility and faith. An image of profound stillness and spiritual beauty that captures the moment of the Incarnation of God for eternity.

The icon is crafted from solid pine wood, stained dark, and features a characteristic scalloped edge as well as decorative brass nails at the corners – unmistakable hallmarks of a small Greek family workshop that follows the Byzantine tradition and has developed a unique artisanal signature with attention to detail.

Whether for your own prayer corner, as a gift for a baptism, wedding, or name day, or for a home altar – this icon is an expression of lived Orthodox tradition.
